The hidden advantage: the iShield passkey is now HID boosted

The iShield security key series has just expanded its multi-layered, multi- application solutions spectrum. This newest addition to the iShield family integrates one of the most prevalent credential technologies for physical access control. Thus, this solution brings together phishing-resistant digital authentication and secure physical access capabilities. Into one single passkey.

“A box without hinges, key, or lid. Yet golden treasure inside is hid”. Such words embedded from an all-time classic. Recently the iShield key 2 series just got expanded with the latest passkey solution. E.D.E. Electronics is proud to present the latest version of the iShield security key solution, fully equipped to complement and support HID Seos standards. One of the most used identification standards for physical access control. the latest Brainchild of physical cyber security pioneer Swissbit, the HID Seos standard is the latest world-class standard to be embedded witnin the iShield capabilities apparatus. Following the integration of MIFARE DESFire EV3 technology.

In addition, the HID-supported iShield security key advancement offers two distinct versions to chose from. In comparison, the standard FIDO2 approved version supports FIDO2/WebAuthn and Universal 2nd Factor (U2F) functionality. Meanwhile, the Pro version offers FIDO2 as well as Personal Identification Verification (PIV), Hash-based Message Authentication Code One Time Password (HOTP), and Time-based One Time Password (TOTP) functions support. Not only that, but both versions offer USB-A and USB-C interfaces and to store up to 300 passkeys. Making them and idle game changer in the passkey world.

Additionally, with this latest variation, the iShield key 2 series offer phishing-resistant digital authentication and secure physical access in one single solution. In parallel, The HID compatible passkey, provides secure, phishing-resistant authentication. All the while supporting these diverse physical and logical use cases in one device.  As a result, the HID standardized solution gives organizations a way to simplify operations, strengthen security, and reduce management overhead.
